Reach British School is a private boys’ and girls’ international school, situated in the Baniyas area of Abu Dhabi. Our native English speaking staff teach the National Curriculum for England, alongside Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Social Studies which are taught by native Arabic speaking teachers. Now in its third year Reach British School caters to students from Early Years up to Year 9 (Grade 8), with Year 10 opening in September 2017. It is a purpose-built school with the capacity to eventually house 2100 students, and we now have over 1230 students enrolled for this academic year.

Social Worker – to start ASAP
A degree plus the relevant specialism in Sociology, Psychology or Social Work is required, along with experience which is preferably with school aged children.
The school social worker will counsel students over issues, help students with additional learning requirements, and counsel those facing social problems. Social workers will work alongside teachers using referrals and action plans, particularly with students disrupting classroom activities and the root causes. An ability to communicate with parents, teachers, the SLT and ADEC is essential to provide a full view of the issues facing an individual student; this includes maintaining case files and reports to track student problems and progress.
School Nurse - May 2017 start
The post holder must meet HAAD School Nurse requirements, with at least 2 years’ experience in an acute care facility, with at least 1 year in basic medical and surgical nursing or school health nursing and have your BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. In addition to these requirements, previous school nurse experience is desirable.
Fluent proficiency in both spoken and written English is a necessity as the post holder will be expected, in addition to normal nursing duties in the clinic, to contribute to school development.
Secondary Mathematics Teacher
Teaching Year 7 to Year 10 Mathematics, the post holder must have iGCSE or GCSE experience and a relevant degree. Fluent proficiency in both spoken and written English is a necessity, and the role will include communication with parents, teachers, and the Senior Team. The working hours are 7.30am - 3.30pm, term time only, but the position requires flexibility with occasional work outside these hours for special events in school.
Swimming Coach - Starting September 2017
This coach will plan and deliver swimming lessons across Primary and Secondary schools, monitoring and communicating student progress, and helping boost confidence in the water. Please read the attached job description also outlying the teaching and learning, as well as the necessary Health & Safety requirements. This role is central to the school administration, including important responsibilities such as overseeing activities of departments, policy implementation, planning and managing change in line with the school development plan, liaising between the Senior Team and teaching staff, acting PA to the Principal, and liaising with ADEC on behalf of the school. The ideal candidate would speak and write English fluently, come from a business administration background or similar, and be prepared for this fast paced key role in the school.
