We are delighted to inform you that Reach British School has been accredited as a Pearson Edexcel centre, approved to offer the International GCSE and International A level qualifications. From September 2017, our Year 10 (Grade 9) students will begin the IGCSE program which ends with formal exams completed at the end of the Year 11 (Grade 10) , when students are aged between 15-16 years old.
The International GCSE has been chosen by Reach British School because of its relevant course content; our Year 10 students are from 11 different nationalities and we have a truly multicultural school with 48 student nationalities. Our work in the Secondary school classrooms with Years 7, 8 and 9 to date has laid the knowledge foundations that prepare us for these formal qualifications. The IGCSE exams are externally assessed, meaning that gaining this qualification can take students onto the next phase of education, such as studying for A-Levels or a BTEC, before going on to study at university. Year 10 to 11 requires even stronger academic focus and hard work from our students, something that we are here to support them with.
