Reach British School's Year 12 student, Abdelsalam, has been named one of the winners in the Library Pioneers Competition by the Department of Culture and Tourism.

Reach British School's Year 12 student, Abdelsalam, has been named one of the winners in the Library Pioneers Competition by the Department of Culture and Tourism.

Abdelsalam was recognised as one of the top three winners at the 2023 Reading Pioneers Competition, held at Khalifa Central Library.

He demonstrated his expertise in Arabic and storytelling by delivering excellent reading summaries in Classical Arabic, with precise pronunciation and flawless grammar

"I am incredibly proud of this achievement. It is thanks to the unwavering support of my teachers and the school that I have reached this milestone,” shared Abdelsalam.

The 2023 Reading Pioneers Competition highlights the importance of the Arabic language in shaping students' characters and strengthening their national identity. It encourages students to hone their writing skills, extract essential ideas, and articulate their thoughts on the material they have read.

Head of Arabic, Ms Wafaa Abdelaziz, expressed her pride in Abdelsalam's dedication and passion for excellence: "Abdelsalam deserves to win and we are so proud of him!
