We had many exciting activities happen during our Science Week. Students took part in science quizzes, best dressed costume competitions and science exhibitions.
“It was fantastic to see many students engaging in a variety of activities to showcase their skills and knowledge,” said Ms. Hannah, our Head of Science in the Secondary
In EYFS, our little scientists did their experiment at home with the help of their parents. They also came to school dressed like scientists and did amazing experiments. There were many “wow’ moments for them.
In Key Stages 1 and 2, students showcased their creativity, innovation and critical thinking as they brought their science experiments to school. All their amazing works were displayed in the Admin reception area for all students, families and visitors to see.
In Key Stage 3, Year 7-9 students worked on an innovative project to design a device or model relevant to a topic learnt in their lessons; this ranged from digestive system models, and motor cars to solar panels on houses. The exhibition was designed to enable students to demonstrate their innovation in science. They have all successfully used their STEAM skills to come up with some very interesting designs. Well done to all of the students who have completed this project!
In addition, our Year 12 students led science experiments with Year 5 and Year 6 students. They demonstrated excellent leadership skills by preparing the session amongst themselves. We could really see their passion and enthusiasm for the subject. It was great to see our senior students use this opportunity to build their leadership skills and help the younger students be successful in science.
