We all know the value of academic success, whether in Maths, English, Science, Arabic or the Arts, and we can show attainment and progress over the course of the year with ongoing assessment in the classroom. However at Reach British School we understand that the social and emotional development of our students is also incredibly important, shaping student behaviour and relationships with peers.
This personal development takes place in the classroom, in the playground, at home with family, but also by taking part in activities outside of a child’s typical interactions. School trips can be a great way to explore this, and challenge students in applying their learning to a world beyond school. In these new environments we sometime see new leaders emerge, we see confidence build, we see minds open to a new activity not considered before, and we see the stregth of students’ positive relationships with each other and with staff develop.
So far in May students have visited Emirates Park Zoo, Bounce trampoline park in Marina Mall, Murjan Splash Park, Adventure HQ ropes and climbing course in Yas Mall, and Yas Waterworld. From FS1 to Year 9, the students have enjoyed new experiences, learnt to work and play together better, and had fun along the way.
Here are some of our favourite photos from the trips:
