Only 75 schools out of Abu Dhabi’s 200 private schools have been invited to host a member country for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 – and Reach British School is one of them! Their One School One Country program would see the school welcome students from one of the 75 member countries, where they can learn about each other’s culture, traditions and values. We are honoured to have been included in this prestigious global event, and hopefully we can host Sweden or Ukraine as the Reach British School colours are also blue and yellow.
The UAE is the first Arab country to host WorldSkills, and 2017 will mark the 20th anniversary of the UAE becoming a member. Our older students will be able to use WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 to discover and explore new skills and training opportunities, helping us to better prepare them for their future. While our Grade 4 and Grade 5 students will have the chance to show off their skills as they will be in charge of hosting the students visiting from abroad. We look forward to showing off how creative they can be.
