As a part of the event in the lead up to the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, schools were asked to launch the event with a 2.5km parade along the Corniche.
We are excited to say that Reach British School won the Yasalam competition, for the second year in the row!
All schools who competed were asked to choose the nationality of one of the F1 teams and create outfits and artwork to wear during the parade. We chose to represent Mexico now that the Instituto Thomas Jefferson Schools in Mexico have become our sister schools, recently joining the International Schools Partnership.
Our Grade 7 and Grade 8 students took part; in art classes, they used sustainable and recycled resources made a Mexican man, sombreros, maracas, fantastic animals, and we even had a giant taco we rode along behind a bicycle.
Fingers crossed for next year, a three-year winning streak would be very exciting.
